Wedge-shaped optical window plate

Maipu Optoelectronics uses wedge-shaped optical windows made of N-BK7, ultraviolet fused silica, calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, zinc tin oxide, sapphire, barium fluoride, silicon and germanium. The wedge-shaped laser window is coated with anti reflective films of specific wavelengths on both sides, with a wavelength range for commonly used laser wavelengths. UV fused silica wedge window is coated with or without broadband antireflection coating on both sides, while H-K9L and silicon wedge window are uncoated. In addition, the wedge-shaped beam sampling mirror is coated with a broadband anti reflection film on one side.

The following figure shows the characteristics of various optical materials.

A wedge-shaped optical window is a specially designed optical component with a certain inclination angle between its two parallel planes. This design can be used to change the path of light passing through the window or eliminate interference phenomena. Wedge shaped windows have a wide range of applications in various optical systems, including laser systems, optical imaging, spectroscopy, and precision measurement.

characteristic

  • Angle accuracy:The tilt angle between the two faces of the wedge-shaped window is very precise, which is crucial for controlling the deflection of light and eliminating interference fringes.
  • Material diversity:Wedge shaped windows can be made of various optical materials, including quartz, sapphire, calcium fluoride, etc., to adapt to different optical applications and environmental conditions.
  • Optical Quality:High quality wedge-shaped windows have excellent surface accuracy and smoothness, ensuring the quality and stability of light transmission.
  • Customization capability:Wedge shaped windows can be customized according to specific application requirements, including wedge angle, size, material, and coating.

application

  • Beam deflection:By adjusting the angle of the wedge-shaped window, the propagation direction of the beam can be precisely changed, which is very useful in optical alignment and laser beam guidance.
  • Eliminate interference:In an optical system, two parallel planes may produce interference fringes. By using wedge-shaped windows, these interference effects can be effectively eliminated, improving imaging quality.
  • optical isolation:In some optical systems, wedge-shaped windows are also used as optical isolators to prevent backward reflected light from interfering with the light source.
  • precise measurement:In precision measurement and instrumentation, wedge-shaped windows can be used to adjust the path of light and improve the accuracy of measurement results.

advantage

  • Provides a simple and effective method to adjust the path of light rays and eliminate interference.
  • It can be customized according to specific optical requirements.
  • Suitable for various optical materials and application scenarios.

In summary, wedge-shaped optical windows are highly valuable optical components that, through their unique design, can provide the flexibility and precision required in optical system design. Whether in scientific research, industry, or other high-precision optical applications, wedge-shaped windows have demonstrated their unique value and application potential.
